1. Attire
Everything old is new again, so heat things up with a mod look drawing inspiration from the late 60s/early 70s. Be sure to incorporate lots of red and green, and don't forget your jumpsuits and bell bottoms.

2. Food & Drink
Cocktails only, no carbs. And absolutely nothing for the children!

3. Dancing
Keep it groovy and keep it moving with a soul train line. While party guests are welcome to freestyle, the jerk and the swim are both highly encouraged.

4. Childcare
Just pop the kids in front of the TV while the adults have fun. They’ll be fine. We promise.

5. Decoration
It’s all about the tree. Real trees are out of style. Go for synthetic. And who needs a fireplace when you have a TV? Turn on the Yule Log for touch of class.

6. Guests
It's 2016, so no judgement on hook ups. Be prepared for guests to leave with someone other than the person they came with—with or without a fishbowl. And remember, family will always arrive late.

7. Gifts
Toys for children should preferably come to life

8. Clean up
Be warned: Chestnuts attract mice…and rat kings.

  1. I've seen it just twice this year, but all the time now a moment comes into my mind, and then the music, or a few bars come, and then I see what they were doing.
