In Context: Pavement

Renowned dancer-choreographer Kyle Abraham makes his BAM debut with a work inspired by, among other things, the 1991 hip-hop classic Boyz N the Hood, W.E.B. DuBois’ The Souls of Black Folk, and Abraham’s childhood growing up in the Pittsburgh Hill District. Context is everything, so get even closer to the production with this curated selection of related articles and videos. 1. Saw Pavement last night and the troupe and performance were FANTASTIC!! They were much better and the performance was much better than many, many of the dance troupes and performances that I've seen at the BAM Harvey or Opera House. Pavement should really have been performed at the Harvey. I arrived in a low mood and as soon as the performance began, everything lifted. I'd love to see them return to BAM again. Please.

  2. I loved Plexus. It was so energetic and beautiful and a great antidote to the election.
