Now your turn...

What did you think? Can brute strength be expressive? Do “headstands” mean something totally different now? Has Shostakovich ever seemed so full of peril? Tell us what's on your mind in the comments below and on social media using #CircaOpus.

  1. Just saw Opus tonight at BAM. Fantastic show - amazing choreography - see it - we loved it!!!

  2. Brilliant show. Great music, acrobatics were impressive in their technical quality, but also brilliantly choreographed, staged, etc. Very much in service of the artistic whole, rather than just tricks for tricks' sake. Bravo!

  3. Most enjoyable, although I found the acrobatics a bit boring (my prejudice, as I find Olympics acrobatics similarly boring). The music was great and there were moments that were moving.

  4. It was fantastic tonight. The performers were amazing and I loved how they incorporated the musicians into the whole piece. Audio and visual excellence. Bravo!

  5. We loved it and were totally mesmerized.
Great music and amazing body control

  6. incredible … i am still holding my breath !

  7. It was great! I totally recommend!
    It is circus for adults!
    Music is also nice!

  8. Loved every bit of the performance, a beautiful synthesis of dance, acrobatics and music that left me breathless!

  9. Fantastic! I relly enjoied the acrobats and the music.

  10. A total success. A wonderful blend of music, acrobats, choreography and staging.
    Kudos to the string quartet.

  11. Wrenching searing interpretation of Shostakovich's music. Reflections of the soul and freedom killing times and country he lived in.

  12. We loved it. Our favorite performance this year.

  13. music and movement taken to new heights, literally. perfect expression and transfer of energy. very rarely was the audience not laughing or exclaiming in amazement. playful and deep and deeply mesemerizing.
