Cornelius Dufallo is best known as the frontman of new music quartet ETHEL, which was at BAM a few years ago with the Next Wave Festival production
Truck Stop. The music was a bright, bustling Americana, composed in collaboration with undersung musicians from rural communities all across the country. For his
BAMcafé Live gig with producer-performer Patrick Derivaz, Dufallo leans more towards the dark and experimental, piling loops, drones, overdubbing, and harmonics over subterranean bass lines for a study in tone color and other subtleties.
